An Eco - Friendly Berkeley Hotel Where Earth and Community Matter
A historic landmark built in 1910, the Hotel Shattuck Plaza in downtown Berkeley is an architectural landmark that has embraced environmental consciousness and sustainable hospitality. From farm fresh and locally sourced California food at Five restaurant to eco-friendly landscaping and building design, our green hotel in Berkeley, California is truly in harmony with our community and planet.
We are passionate about providing modern luxury while staying true to our eco-friendly programs and conservation practices. All of our guestrooms are outfitted with energy efficient lighting and HVAC units, natural bath amenities with biodegradable packages, and water saving toilets. We strive to eliminate waste through our recycling program for everything from paper to linens to water bottles. And in our restaurants, we butcher our own proteins and use the entire product in our dishes. At Hotel Shattuck Plaza, our goal is to reduce our impact on the world and only work with vendors who adhere to our green philosophy.
Hotel Shattuck Plaza adheres to the Bay Area Green Business certification to: conserve natural resources; minimize environmental impacts such as pollution and use of water and energy; eliminate or reduce toxics that create hazards to workers and our community; increase the use of environmentally preferable products; and support strong recycling markets and reduce materials to the landfill. We also follow all Green Building Practices for design, construction, and operation to maintain our Bay Area Green Business certification.
Bay Area Community Outreach
